ABOUT ME

HI,

I'M CHRIS...

I'm a native Pennsylvanian who ran away to the British Isles and now calls Texas home. By God's grace I was baptized and eventually ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Currently, I serve as Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Waco, Texas. Previously, I've served congregations in New Jersey, Scotland, and Indianapolis.

My Reformed faith is rooted in the belief that God has spoken to the world in the person of Jesus Christ, and in the church's common life something of that speaking is heard. A commitment the proclamation of the historic Christian faith sits at the heart of my call to ministry. As a pastor, nothing brings me more joy than helping Christians share in a common life of public worship, joyful fellowship, mutual care, and a concern for God's justice.

After writing Darkness on the Edge of Town, Bruce Springsteen said that writing is a "reckoning" with a world of limitation and compromise. The miracle of our faith is that we are "reckoned with" people, who are constantly being formed by God's mercy.

This page is where I keep a collection of sermons, prayers, and other musings about life, ministry, and everything else on the roadside. For vocational inquiries, check out my PIF here. I'm so grateful you stopped by.
